Internal Medicine Residency Program Frequently asked Questions

"Residents complete the Huntington program with the confidence that they have been well-trained to provide compassionate, high quality care for their patients. Having just completed my fellowship, I look back at my Huntington training and am grateful that I was there for such a crucial time in the development of my own clinical skill set."

Dear Medical Student,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Internal Medicine Clerkship Program at Huntington Memorial Hospital.  We offer a wide range of clerkships throughout our calendar year beginning in July and ending in May.  Students work under the direct supervision of the attending physician, as well as the resident(s).

We accept third and fourth year medical students from Keck/USC for participation in our Internal Medicine rotation.

Other clerkships offered to fourth year medical students from all schools are:

  1. MICU
  2. Gastroenterology
  3. Cardiology
  4. Renal

We require an approval from your medical school to participate in our clerkships.  All rotations are scheduled for 4-week blocks in the same calendar month.

**Enclosed in this information packet is a Clerkship Application form, which must be returned in order to schedule your rotation.  To process your application, we ask that the Medical School Approval form to be signed by the Dean of your college.  This must be completed and returned with proof of liability insurance and your immunization records to complete the application process.**

We look forward to your participation in our program.  If you have any questions, please contact our office (626) 397-5160.

Sincerely,
Graduate Medical Education
